The PrimoGAIA’s ”First Kernel” arrived in Bordeaux and has been successfully installed at the CRMSB laboratory . Due to Covid-19 restriction the partners Pure Devices and Fraunhofer, from Germany, could not assist in the system startup, but thinks were well prepared upstream. With a remote control assistance from Pure Devices engineers we were able to reproduce the results obtained in their laboratories.

The first kernel setup is ready and offers the opportunity to perform both earth field measurements and DNP measurements. It is also able to modify the earth field strength. It has been prepared for further modifications, especially for smaller or otherwise adapted coils. Spectroscopic and imaging capabilities has been shown. Furthermore, it is prepared for testing of large components of the second kernel, as each part can be replaced individually.
